When I first learned the term "peacocking" I was bombarded with high fashion names and wondered if it wasn't just a term for pricy clothing. While I think high fashion will build a rapport with girls I personally don't think it's necessary.

Let me show you an example. I wore glasses for a long time. I chose some rather nice thin framed glasses that I needed only for driving and watching tv/movies/concerts/etc. Eventually, I decided to get contacts. When I did they advised me to get new glasses as well in case the contacts ever fell out. Thinking that I wouldn't wear them often I chose the cheapest frames available. They were thick black frames made out of plastic (if I can find a good picture of myself in them I'll post it). In my mind they were very silly and almost nerdy-looking, but, hey I couldn't argue with $20 glasses. I wore the contacts regularly but I inevitably had to sometimes wear the glasses. Much to my surprise girls around me were out of nowhere complimenting me on my new glasses (bear in mind they'd also seen my old "trendy" ones and not mentioned a thing). Here's the thing, I still have them today and though I usually wear contacts I sometimes use the glasses and I am always complimented on my glasses by the people around me.

This leads me to wonder if anyone knows any other ways to inexpensively peacock and what tips they may have.

well, im a girl, and when i go out i am peacocked in my own way.

most girls here in my country are like this when they go out:

high heals
long hair
nice clothes
clothes tend to reveal a bit because they are out and want to show what they have. so short here and there.

well, i have short hair. I tend to wear a wrist band or 2 and a chain with a small cat bell on my neck or a key. tend to wear baggy pants. im quite athletic, so i look good in shorter things, but i tend to wear confortable clothes. I get complements on my style from girls and guys. The guys go crazy for it... too bad i dont go for guys.

the key is the funnyest thing. ill be honest, i have handcuffs, and the key i wear on my neck is from my handcuffs. I tend to look quite inocent for some reason... must be the non revealing clothes, and people ask if its the key to my heart. and i answer...no, its the key to my handcuffs.
guys go crazy... its pathetic

Peacocking has nothing to do with expensive clothing. Its all about getting attention. Yes expensive clothes is one way to get attention, but there are many ways to go about it.
If your tall, meaning 6'3"+ your height is one cheap way to peacock. Also buying vintage clothing may also work.

Girls around here pretty much do the same. But why beat the last one around the bush? Why can't you just say clothes that show skin and cleavage? lol

kuz... personaly i find it boring.

i got a prety sweet shirt today. so i have some nice black pants, a black top, and a kick ass red shirt that goes over it that i keep open. or i can wear it with no top and more open at the top...

what ever. then i have a prety sweet silver necklace that does the trick. it was a birthday present...so cheep for me
ill try to convince myself to wear this shirt i bought once.

a friend of mine "she is straight" took me shopping with her. she made me try on this shirt that ... if i saw it on a girl id drool. i put it on...and she looked at me...your hot!! even id fuck you
im used to baggy stuff n i feel like the average slutty girl when i get away from my style. kuz i do have one. its quite solid so sometimes its hard to stay in avatar ill do it some day...

I got some neon coloured narrow silk ties for £3 each. The pink one works the best. I always get complimented on it with a black polo or shirt.

I haven't tried it yet but I might be able to use this tye dye shirt that I made in a high school chemistry class. It spirals in colors of red yellow and orange and kind of looks like a sunrise.

I have yet to see a girl that looks slutty in baggy clothes.

Actually, I'm 6' 2" and have red hair so I have a little natural peacocking that I can use.

I don't know how red your hair is. But you may want to try wearing a shade of green that brings it out. I seen girls do this and the ones the wear the right shade of green certainly stand out.
