This will be brief and to the point.

I was telling a story about my past which involved drug use. I do not encourage drug use because it has, to say the least, screwed me up mentally. I explained this to some of the members on the chat and told them how I regret ever associating with drugs and was then muted by an admin. I think that encouraging drugs should be outlawed but telling a story about my past and clearly doing the opposite from encouraging drug use should not qualify for a temporary mute. Please respond if you agree or disagree. I hope I am not the only one who thinks this way.

No I agree with you Philos. He wasn't promoting it, I was there. But you have to see it from there perspective. ANY talk of using drugs doesn't really want to be said around here, I assume.

You have to remember that the mods don't do this as a job so when we are in a chat we can't be watching it all the time.
It is perfectly possible that once of us glanced over at the chat and saw you talking about getting/taking/selling drugs and just muted you.

Talking about drugs, no matter what the reason is against the rules. This site is owned by a company and therefore they don't want to be affiliated with illegal activity in any way.

In future, just leave out the drugs part - was it really necessary to talk about it specifically or would simply saying "I was into some stuff that was really messing up my life" been enough to get the point across?
