If the under 18 kids see that we made a special subforum for older people, they might automatically assume that the REST of the forum is their turf, and the traffic of the under 18s may increase. That's the last thing I want to happen.
Look at it this way: the majority of the material taught in pickup is meant for bars and clubs. In the US (where the pickup market is most predominant), you can only go to these places when you're 21 and up. Some people who are 21-22 might still be college, but the great majority of the 21+ crowd is out of college and out in the real world. Therefore, pickup is meant for YOU. Anyone under 21 barely has any reason to be here compared to those in your age range.
As one of the senior moderators here I fully support having an older crowd here on this forum. In fact I wish the 30+ year old people outnumbered the under 21 crowd. I don't think that separating yourselves on an entirely different subforum is the best idea but let me know if you can think of anything else. Or, if you disagree with my predictions of what might happen if we do create a separate subforum for older men, let me know that as well.
On a separate note, the game may have some differences here and there for older guys, but the fundamentals and basics will always be the same.
This was very insightful. I actually assumed that this website was for everything pick up, but now that you put it this way this changes my view of several of the things I’ve posted on the website. I think a good idea is to put up in the general rules or a section where people will read, who will be the most successful with this website and who it is meant for. May be putting something up like a site introduction or General information section about the site may discourage some of the bad traffic.
For Example:
Welcome to MPUAForum.com, this is a pick up website specifically meant to cater to club and bar game. This website is NOT meant to cater to high school students. College students are welcome but we focus primarily on bar and club game, etc. It's a great place for person's 21 and older to sharpen their skills with women and find that perfect mix of friends and casual encounters. Men who are most successful are usually self-sufficient self-starters who are actually looking to do things.
I guess that's a basic intro. Then whip it into something you like.
Oh, and just another thought. Maybe on the new website you may seperate the sections by age? Maybe Under 18, 18-21, 21-24, 25-30, 30-40, etc. Or maybe by high school, college, real world, etc.
