I'm surprised I don't see this already asked, but the current chat system is terrible.
The window is tiny and when people are talking fast I miss out on stuff. You can't scroll up because it auto-scrolls down when somebody types. The chat logs gets chopped off after a while. It's SLOW (my laptop literally lags when I type in the chat window). And overall it's buggy and annoying. It frequently tells me I'm typing too fast ("Don't talk to fast, take a break." popup") when I type a one-word sentence after being idle for 5 minutes

. The list goes on.
IRC is great - you can use any client you choose as well as web clients. Used it for years and never had a problem. AND it's extremely easy to set up, especially if you use a popular external host (they're free, and there's really no reason not to).
I really really urge the webmaster to switch the chat to IRC. IRC is so much better than the current nonportable slow buggy horrid flash-based chat client. And I can actually follow conversations without being glued to the monitor every single second, since it has a functioning chat log you can scroll up and read.
