This is not the forum to seek out psychological advice.
That isn't particularly helpful advice there mate. I am also Bi Polar In fact I found this thread by searching for the same answer to Gaius question. There is a very fine line in what is psychological advice and just general social advice and I think that he has a legitimate question. Im pretty sure a lion share of the users of this forum have had a mental health disorder at some point in their life and may suffer from social anxiety. Its very easy to just fob someone of and say see a professional but it isn't a Psychiatrists job to help you with your game.
I keep seeing threads like this on PUA forums being shut down saying get processional help but that isn't a magic wand. I doubt the people posting these are morons and probably already are getting "professional help" but that is only one part of the solution which needs to be supplemented by maintaining relationships and an active social life. What do they do in the mean time Become a monk and wait to be cured?
Incidentally the nature of Bi Polar disorder and many other mood disorders is they are permanent fixtures of your life that aren't "cured" you learn to live with and manage. I hear several PUA's say sort your own happiness out before you start thinking about gaming but for many people that is not an option. It becomes a chicken an egg scenario. If you are living with Bi polar or other hyperactive mood disorders you can be frequently up and down and it can be a real hassle to maintaining inner game. and I for one would actually like to hear some useful advice on how people cope with this. Instead of a cliche answer from someone who clearly has no Idea
