Only you know the answer to your question.

Do you want to maximize fat loss or muscle building or do you want to do both at the same time?

If you chose at the same time, just know you won't be able to maximize one or the other.

With that said.

If it seems you need to burn fat first but keeping the muscle. The trainer who posted before me has good intentions but the truth is, building muscle alone will not help you burn as much fat as you hope.

If I were you, I would maximize fat loss while keeping your current muscle mass.

That means you should weight train 3-4X's a week and at least one of them should be heavy low rep strength training. The others more circuit like and also do some intervals on your off days.

Diet wise, I would try intermittent fasting twice a week. And no, it won't "burn" your muscles.

You can also go the holistic way and eat less proccessed foods and eat more organic foods while eating until your 80% full.
