Motivation! My Story of Loosing Fat!

It's started when i was 21 and Left the Army in 2001 (Every Male in Germany HAS to go to the Army or make a year in Civilservice). Since that day i've never was Fat. I trained Karate since i was a Child. I've started working as a Wholesaler and there the Problem started! Overtime, Overtime, Overtime. Go Late to bed, wake up Early, Quit the Dojo because of no time. I Eat unhealty stuff... Crisps, Burgers, Fries liters of Coke and a lot of Alcohol at the weekend's. My Girlfriend never said a word about it. New (and bigger) Clothes, the comeback of Acne and my bloodpresure well... Than, in 2006 my Girl left me, the Company closes and it was the First time in my Life i was demotivated. I've watched Pictures of my Past, Trophys and Medals from Tournaments. It was like they shout " Look at yourself! Why you has done this to yourself!" into my Face! My Weight in middle 2006: 135 Kilogramms by 1,85 Meters!

A look in the Mirror: It's time to do something! I've changed my Nutrition radically: No Unhealthy stuff, 3-4 Liters of Water a Day, No Sugar, No Alcohol for one year! I've startet my Karatetraining and was shocked about my Bad shape. 3 Times a Week Karate, 3 Times a week Gym (to my advantage there was a Gym incl!), Every way in the City i walked or take my Bike. 5 Times a Week Tabata Sprints followed by a Hour of Zumba. Every 3 Weeks i've eat normaly why? Because if you reduce your Calories to much you Body goes to Condition Red and thinks that he won't get enough power to Burn. It's a kind of Self Defense!

Middle of 2008 i've got it! I was down to 90 Kilogramms, In the Best Shape of my Life!

My Advice:
First visit a Doctor! It's the most Important step! He'll give you Help!
Do NOT take Fatburners, Pills or such Crap! There is NO Evidence this stuff works! The most stuff is very Dangerous to!
Forget about loosing Weight! Think about loosing FAT! The more muscle you build, the more Fat you burn. Muscles are more Heavier than Fat so it's possible that you'll gain weight after a Time. Let the Doc check your Musclemass every 3 Month, than more Muscles = You need more Calories!
Buy a MP3 Player and fill him with Motivating Music like Eye of the Tiger or Millitary Shouts to push you!
Find a Sport you like! Soccer, Football or Martial Arts! Feeling your Body after this will motivate you for 'Boring' things in the Gym.
No Sugar! Honey has less calories and is more Sweet
No Alcohol! A lot of Bad Calories! For Example: 100 ml of Irish Cream = 700 Calories!
Always have Peppermint Drops! In the beginning take one when you're body demands a snack!
No aditional Salt! Chilli, Garlic, Ginger are better AND will turn on you Metabolism! A nice Drink: A Slice of Ginger and Hot Chillipeppers with hot Water, wait a few Minutes and Drink it.
No Excuses! Bad Waether? No time? So why can you Play Xbox or Watch TV? Make Post it Notes with: First Work(out)! Or better: Sell it on Ebay! Consoles, TV, Screens make you Couchpotatoe!
3 Week Break: Every 3 Week's have a Break. You can eat a littlebit more. A LITTLE BIT! And one Day in this Weeks it's allowed to Eat a Pizza, a Burger or whatever you like!
Calories: A Normal Male Person needs between 2000 and 2500 Calories. Never get under 1600 Cal!
Drink Water: 3-4 Liters a Day! The best is have a 1 L Flask filled during the day. Before Meals drink a Large Glass cold Water!
Forget all the Low Carb, Low Fat stuff! Everyone is diferent! My Brother for Example gets a very bad mood without Carbs.

So thats for the Moment!

This is a really good post for people who want to lose weight.

You are right about the never going under 1600 kcal's, some people just try to starve themselves, resulting in the defense mechanism you mentioned.

Losing weight like this is almost easy! I wish it was as easy to gain good weight like this as well :P (for me that is).
