I'm just a little nervous about it. I mean I can go up to a set of four girls, but can't go into a tanning bed? I just.. I'm pale as shit, will it even work?

Pale kid needs to believe in himself.

Even though medical evidence suggesting that exposure to ultraviolet rays can cause skin cancer is indisputable, tanning beds are big business showing numbers in the two billion dollar a year range. That is a huge amount of money that people like you and me are spending on getting an even tan.

So, is it safe? Well, the tanning industry big wigs would like you to believe that not only is it safe, but actually good for you. They argue that tanning is simply a darkening of the skin when exposed to ultraviolet rays. Since fair skinned people who are exposed to these rays usually just burn, the tanning beds help enhance your body's melanin production in the skin. The melanin causes the brownness, actually helping to protect the skin from the harmful rays. Obviously, not everyone agrees with that assessment.

It will work but don't use them too often and if you don't want to take the risk with ultraviolet rays go for a spray tan untill the summer comes.

I know it's scary, it's like going to the Dr. for the first time. And I can pretty much guarantee that there will be hot chicks there.

Start slow, like 3-4 minutes per session. Go twice a week. Slowly build up the time. I'm pale too, I burnt the first time when I went in for 5 min. The trick is you don't want to burn! Sunburn is what causes cancer! UV rays will just enhance the melanin in your skin and give you wrinkles when you get older. Price of vanity.

Don't lay in the sun, the beds are safer because you get specified "doses" of UV radiation. With the sun, well take a look at the UV index for your area and you can see it jump from 1-10, which means 5 minutes of sun one day could be the same as 20 minutes another day. (or time). Tricky to do the math so you don't burn (and get cancer)

Thanks guys. I'm still going out there, and sarging. No luck yet, but hey it comes with time. Going downtown this weekend so.

I will start tanning in a few weeks when it gets warmer.

Dude tanning is awesome. I change tanning places all the time just so I can meet the girls that work their. Make jokes. Walk in there and tell them that your too tan and your there to see if they have a bed that gets you un-tan. Be sarcastic. They will ask you to drop your pants right there. But just don't worry about it. Don't be intimidated. Theres nothing to worry about. You will learn to love it. If tanning was A girl...I would do her.

hi, i used to be really pale aswell, i got fed up with it and went to a professional tanning salon.
you take a tanbed every other day for a month or 2, the girls in the salon will help you and give the advice you need, now i only take a tan every week, it really helped, you just have to throw a bit of money at it in the beginning, to actually get a tan.
