hey guys, June 11th will be my 1 year of being a vegan. I never post on the Heath&Fitness section of the forum so I thought I would post this. I've learned a lot and i'm continuing to learn more.

Ask Me Anything!

FAQ:

Q. Why did you become Vegan?
A. Science suggests that although we are capable of eating meat for survival purposes, we dont need to 'survive' in this first world country (USA) and being vegan is cleaner, better for the environment and statistics show that meat eaters live the shortest lives, then vegetarians (eat milk, and eggs), then pescetarian (eat only fish) and vegans (do not eat any animal products) live the longest and i want to live a happy, long life. I do not eat vegan for ethical reasons but it doesn't hurt knowing i'm preventing animals from being hurt but yes i wear leather (belts and shoes)

Q. Do you ever just crave meat?
A. No, not even when I first started. If something looks good enough I'll make a Vegan alternative of my own. thats what i would really crave.

Q. Where do you get your protein??#??!@?
A. Beans, lentils, legumes, almost every form of life has protein and the FDA says the average male only needs about 55g a day. Most people just get way too much and the caveat is that too much protein can be bad for your health.

Q. Where do you get your B12?
A. Daily supplements, Meat eaters get B12 from meat, the animals that you get the B12 from get it from being injected with B12 (just like the other junk) and they get that B12 from Soy, which is where my supplements come from. Natural B12 use to be in our soil but because of agriculture its all used up (unless you eat organic) in the refined soil. although vegans are known for having B12 deficiencies, its not uncommon for meat eaters to be deficient too.

Q. What if i eat bacon in front of you?? mewhahahaha!!!
A. go ahead idgaf - I'd probably eat Dulse in front of you. Last year in 2015 processed meat has been proven to cause colon cancer. Red meat is currently under investigation and currently under "probably causes cancer" though this is not as dangerous as smoking, Eating processed meat can add about 1% higher risk of getting colon cancer.

ask away!!! I'm interested in how much hate I'm going to get for this. haha

Good job man. Don't forget to supplement with monohydrate creatine or your muscle mass and testosterone levels will plummet.

who told you that ? I'm subscribed to a few vegan body builders on youtube. they are doing really well and i dont recall them ever mentioning monohydrate creatine lol

there is nothing wrong with my testosterone either. lack of testosterone in a vegan diet is one big fallacy and so is losing muscle mass

Good for you becoming a vegan.

Creatine deficiency isnt really a problem to be honest (among vegans).
At worst that could lead to having a little less energy during training sessions.
However creatine is a good supplement, it increases the concentration of phosphocreatine in your muscle cells, wich leads to a larger reserve of "functional" cretine. That reserve will be used before you ATP reserves. You can gain some waterweight though wich isnt great when it comes to pure looks, you can look a little "swole up" in a bad way... losing some definition perhaps. Use the pure shit Cr-monohydrate, it solves in water. A year of supplementing with it should go around 40 USD (3-5 grams every day).
There are no side effects on your liver or anything else.

Trust the swedish powerlifter.
