This guide is meant for those who never workout. But still there are a few overlooked tips for those that DO workout.
Running will be the first thing on the list... But here's something that's often overlooked: LAYER-UP!!!
Getting started on the run, in order.
Getting dressed.
Layer 1.
Put on a long sleeve tee-shirt, then a pair of sweat pants [called SWEAT pants for a reason] on with the long sleeve shirt tucked in. A pair of socks that you're going to tuck your sweats into. Also, you can put a short sleeved tee shirt over the long sleeve... [this is what I do, but it's not required as much as it just enhances the effect].
Layer 2.
Put on a hooded sweatshirt over top the sweatpants, then another pair of sweats on that your hoodie is tucked into. Throw on your running shoes and put gloves on with the sleeves of your hoodie tucked into them. If your hoodie can close up and be tied, do that as well.
Now you probably look like Rocky or little mac from punch-up when they're training. You're dressed in a way that doesn't allow heat to escape as easily with is useful for burning fat. It also helps you build stamina if you're running for some event or boxing or whatever... but if you just wanna lose weight those are simply an additional bonus.
Warm up [this should be done before stretching].
Run like a quarter mile or some shit... Stay on the balls of your feet and don't let your ankles... [oh wait, this is just to lose weight and not to be a better runner..] yeah, you don't have to run on your toes, but if you much only do so till your calfs hurt then give it a rest... [I'll post more about that later].
Your warm up is running until you sweat. If you're sweating it means your body is warm and trying to cool itself down with sweat and it's time to stretch.
So, do some stretches [if only i had time to post them all, maybe later].
When stretching is done go out running.
I suggest running constantly for a mile for beginners.
When the run is over do crunches
and a set of 30 push-ups.
Or just do this work-out [really just do this one].

Then shower-up.
This is actually a rather light work-out but it should help burn off fat if done, not even daily, but bi-daily.
