What's up gentz?

I am White Lion, new poster, long time PUA. But before I was a PUA, I was a boxer. In fact, White Lion is very close to my nickname in boxing and MMA circles.

My weight was always an issue. I would cut weight to compete the VERY unhealthy way, win a fight, and put some back on. This last year I had my gym close (And coach die) as well as some personal set backs. I got BIG. Well, 25% body fat and I weigh 200 lbs.

My game is tight. When I go out I still pull. But my confidence is shot. I depend on state. And I cant compete/fight when lardy. Plus, no matter how good my game is, some girls I cant get through to due to thin-slicing.

This is my weight loss manifesto. I am going to lose about 40 lbs of fat by July. Not a huge deal, manageable but I figured this was a good topic for everyone, because a PUA needs to look and feel as good as possible for the best results.

My experience in weight loss and nutrition comes from having a few dieticians, a few nutritionists, and loads of exercise experience and sport coaching experience in the field of helping athletes make weight.

Resources for those who want to QUICKLY lose weight:

Lyle McDonald
Martin Berkhan

Both have websites. Martin's is http://www.leangains.com/

Lyle's is http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/

I am not an affiliate, but I have paid both for consulting at one point or another. After getting help from countless other experts they were the best.

I will be following a protocol made by Lyle McDonald which is a modified protein sparring fast with the modifications for an athlete.

Will post results.

I love it! I suspect calling yourself out like this will help keep you accountable while you setup and reach your weight goals. Good work. I look forward to watching your progress.

I've been fat (220lbs at 5'10") and I've been fit (165lbs) and I know the struggle is super personal.

Logic isn't enough. It's EASY to KNOW what you should be doing, what you should be eating, and how you should be training. But knowing and doing don't seem to be mutually exclusive (did I word that right?!)

When I was single I didn't know how to pickup women I found it really EASY to lose weight. I had a powerful emotional pull to eat clean and to hit the gym early each morning... because I had tied my fitness level to my romantic success.

And then I learned how to pickup beautiful women and suddenly things changed for me. Over 6 years I got lazy, gained 30 lbs and got fat... but my ability to pickup women didn't change. I made the tragic discovery that I could still get laid even though I was out of shape and hated my body's stretched out shape!

My problem with losing weight is that I no longer have a deep emotional drive to getting laid because I get laid all the time (even before I met my current girlfriend.) My hunger for pussy is gone (I'm constantly satiated) and so my natural drive to weight lift and eat right have been altered... my dream is that I can re-align my inner desires for personal success, confidence and pride so that I can redevelop a deep emotional drive to train and eat clean.

I like that you're using external driving forces like coaches to help keep you on track... and I'm wondering if that would help me.

Please keep us posted on your struggles, good or bad.

Much appreciated,
~ Robby

That sad reality is that whatever weight you lose will not be permanent. The serial dieter's methodology is become unhappy with current weight, try some scheme to lose it, get some results, then revert back to the behaviors that caused the initial weight gain. It's a cycle that repeats itself over and over again.

I heard some doctor recently say how almost all the new fad diets nowadays work: SouthBeach, Adkins, Paleo, etc. But the reason most people don't succeed with them is because none of them work longterm. The reason they don't work longterm is because they don't address the root problem that overweight people have--an unhealthy relationship with food.

People on diets use terms like "Being good" and "cheating" to describe what and how much they eat. This is the wrong mindset to have because it's based on you feeling compelled to eat unhealthy foods in large amounts.

Robby: I know this will help a load and I personally think the community is missing this type of focus. Only RSD guys preach removing limitations and improving how you treat your body as a way to improve game.

I get laid more when fat. When losing I am always focused on something else and serious. Odds are it is because I once lost for competition only.

Will post good stuff and what I eat. Starting tomorrow.

Ninja:

To some degree you are right, in fact you typically gain weight.

The difference is I once was 285lbs, I have lost over a hundred and maintained a healthy range. I never got absolutely lean, just enough to accomplish my goals. I plan to just kick start a new healthy living plan with a cut.

The difference is, I see weight loss like PUA and all my other goals. You never just stop. Its an ongoing learning experience.
