When in the day should I workout for optimal fat loss and muscle building? I've got a few answers on this already, just curious to other opinions.

Alright, cardio.

I do SSCV. Steady state cardio vascular. Google it. But it's basically getting your BPM to around 130. This isn't much. What I do is go on a treadmill for 30 minutes on an inline, fast walking pace.

You can either do SSCV before breakfast or after your weights session. If you want to know the science behind it, let me know or google it. Basically your glycogen levels are low so you will be hitting fat stores directly. SSCV is not tough, just boring and soul destroying. But get it done.

I always find to do weight training in the afternoon/early evening best, but it's personal preference

IMHO it's a tricky question. There is a benefit of doing the cardio in the morning before a breakfast for a fat loss.

But for muscle building I don't think it matters that much. I know bodybuilders that train any time a day. This factor is not crucial.

I've actually looked into doing cardio while fasting, and the results of fat loss are questionable, it seems.

even if it works, it's not healthy.

your brain needs glucose to function. When you're fasting, your glucose levels are depleting, and when you're exercising and fasting at the same time, you're really taking a risk...

Thanks for the insight on that, getwit. I was unaware of this.
