no more then an hour a day. Usually 45min - 1hr. You dont want to go to much longer after that for a weight training day.

Yep, 1 hour at most. I need to spend more time so I can do cardio, but I'm about to work at a gym soon and think I'll split my cardio session and lifting sessions in one day.

I can usually get a single body part weight lifting session in, in around 40 minutes (but I don't rest too much), so an hour is a good guide line.

Read the Slow Burn Fitness Revolution: You only need about 30 - 35 minute in weight workout every 3 - 5 days. (I've made more gains this way than with years of multiple sets and splitting up body parts--unless you are using drugs, then you can work out more and make faster gains, with all of the negative side effects of course.)

As for cardio--if you are into athletic competition, or enjoy an endurance sport, otherwise get your exercise walking around looking for HBs or dancing.

Worried about weight gain: switch to a low carb diet, under 55 grams a day, and you'll never gain weight if you are thin, and will lose it if you are fat.

45 min a day, 5 days a week. If you know what you are doing you get great results.

i take as long as it takes. im not to serious about working out, i just do a single dumbells exercise for each muscle group in the evening (maxwieght i can handle and 12 - 15 reps). it doesnt matter how long the break is between each muscle group because the workouts are unrelated (unless your trying for cardio).
i usually workout while watching a film in the evening and spread it over an hour. doing it at home while doing something else works well for keeping a good routine. so far i havnt missed a day all month.

Between an about45 mins and an hour and a half 6 days a week. But I go to the gym with a friend so we have to wait for each other. On my own usually takes about an hour.

Back / Biceps / Abs - Monday
Chest / Triceps - Tuesday
Abs / Cardio - Wednesday
Shoulders / Forearms - Thursday
Legs / abs - Friday
Cardio - Saturday

^This.

I've been doing this for the past 8 weeks, I weighed 70kg, I'm now 76kg (I'm trying to stay as lean as I can, rather then mass bulking) and am trying to hit 80kg of lean mass by the end of november.

It depends on your goal, but eating the right foods is super important too!

I would say you should play a couple hours of strenuous basketball at least three times a week. Forget the weights and the sit ups. The game will make you lose weight like no other.
Good Luck!! :)

I would say no more than 40 minutes excluding warm-up.

The number of days per week depends on your body type and goals.
