My workout

5 reps of weight A
5 reps of weight A+10 pounds
5 reps of weight A+20 pounds
15 reps of weight A

The idea is to set weight A to just below where it makes you fail, so that by the time you are at A+20 you are working very hard and can barely make it through the five reps. Then when you hit the weight A again, that becomes very hard by the 10th rep. Somedays it is hard to make it to 15 reps.

This work out is awesome and always works for me. I use it for every muscle group and make sure to increase my weight every time I work out. It gives a good balance of mass gain, lean muscle, slow and fast twitch work out(endurance and speed).

I also do a three day split(legs, pull, push muscle groups) and will repeat the above set 3-4 times, or until I can't anymore. What do you think? It's been working for me but I also haven't tried any other workouts so I am just wondering if this could be improved. Personally I like that it builds evenly worked muscles that are good at a lot of stuff and I would like to gain more mass. Should I just eat more then and stick with this?

its a great method to increase load on the muscles without risking overtraining.
