I started getting acne around 13 and it never left, I'm 21 and I still have it.
Its not as bad as it was in the 13 - 19 region. When I was 13 - 19 pizza face would have been a compliment. I don't want to gross you out with details but whether I washed my face twice a day or every hour through the day, within half an hour of washing my face it was dripping grease all over the floor.
In the last 2 years its started to decline. oh its still there, there hasn't been a day since 13 when I was completely spot free, but its not very noticable now. I get a few here and there, nothing unbearable.
So trust me, I've tried every cream, every wash, every diet, every medication etc.
98% of all those creams advertised to make your skin spot free within 3 days are for girls with perfect skin and don't work on people like us.
I'm a biochemistry graduate and let me tell you what works.
Ask your doctor for a prescription of tetracycline or erythromycin (whichever works best on you). Follow the instructions to the letter!
Don't expect immediate results, it will take about a month or so and you need repeat prescriptions every month. While on the medication your acne will decrease by 40% - 60%.
Also make sure to get 8 hours sleep every night, no less.
Drink 8 glasses of water every day.
Cut out fatty and greasy foods (unless its fish) and fizzy drinks etc.
Yes wash your face morning and night with clean and clear

and any time you can inbetween to remove grease.
