Great Nutrition, Working Out and Maybe a few supplements if you know your way around them you could get 2-4 lean pounds of muscle or 5-10 decent( I call them sloppy) every week for an entire build cycle.

I'm no pro but have been lifting wieghts for a long time. If you can increase 5 lbs every week you are not doing your max to start off.

I do a 5 Set of 5 Reps and increase 5 pounds whenever I can do the full set.

I know if I just increase my reps and not wieght I will get toned and look alot better, I am planning to increase reps at the wieght I get to in april(so I have 2 months till summer to tone). But till then is there a faster way to incrase wieght than 5 punds every week or is that un realistic.

Add isolation movements to your routine with dumbells(workout triceps when you bench and biceps when you do back) and apply the pyramid technique to your exercises don't just try to go as heavy as possible every time. Also your nutrition is what counts the most in any fitness goal, you need to eat more. Eat about 6 meals a day with 3/4 if it being good food and the other 1/4 being just crap with alot of protein and carbs and calories, if you dont already have a protein powder then buy one. What does your post workout meal look like and how much to you weigh and what's your height?

I don't always add 5 pounds a week. I do 5 sets with 5 reps. If I add 5 punds I might only do 3 sets of 5 reps and then hit failure at 2-3 reps in the next sets. In that case I would then not add weight the next week and fullfill my 5 set 5 rep.

If you work out PROPERLY and eat PERFECTLY (which i personally think you aren't) it is said that you can gain about a pound a week. Not sure on the reliability of that statement though.

If you gain 4 pounds a week most of that would be fat. Just mass not lean muscle.

Yup. Putting on a fat is just a consequence of a bulking diet and it is inevitable, and to even ask how much weight you can put on a week doesnt really make sense, there are so many variables to consider that in the end what applies for you will not apply for everybody.

I think you guys are again mis-understanding me. When I said I added 5 pounds a week I meant onto my lif as I put 5 pounds on my bench press.

Considering muscle mass has to many variables like genetics,etc. Two guys can lift the same amount and look totaly diffrent.

My question was how much can someone add onto lifts per week? Not onto thier body....

this question is unanswerable, stop whining about not getting an answer any number you get is going to be 100% made up.

you wanna know how fast, as fast as you can, want an actual number? 1 week.

now, honestly that's as good as any answer your going to get because it's 100% reliant on genetics, diet, training regiment, time you've had in the gym, time you take for rest, sleep patterns and schedules, how much you train that muscle group, how much you train the secondary muscle groups, once you exceed 250lbs on a bench your form should change, you should have your toes planed in the ground and your back arched to plant your shoulders in the bench to take weight off your joints, not we have to take into account the strength of your calves, quads, traps, gluts your literally talk every major muscle group in order to hold forum. some people can add a few pounds a week and take a few months to push that but there are people that can take years to move 60 extra pounds on a bench.

stop worrying about numbers like that bro

I got the answer.

To build strength, repetetions are useless. only the repetetions beyond "muscle-failure" counts when building strength. When you work beyond "muslce-failure" the muscle sends a signal to the brain reminding it that more muslce is required.

There is no certain number of you weight you should add pr week, listen to your body, but put it to the limit every time you workout, remember giving up before "muslce-failure" is wasted energy.

I dont recommending using weights, machines or other tv-shop jokes.
Your body is your own gym, use bars and bodyweights exercises, be creative and your workout and you will be functionally training your body rather than bodybuilding it.

Remind me, whats the point of functional strength again? Because I have never found one unless you're an athlete
