Recently I started a diet the week after Super Bowl (2/10/2014) to be exact. I started out at 178 pounds. Not good considering I'm not tall, 5'6". I did the Shred Diet by Dr. Ian Smith and increased my workouts a little bit too. The diet book is a 6 week program that each week has a different goal in mind and gives you day by day meal/snack guidelines.
During the 6 week program, I lost 16 pounds with 8 of them being fat pounds. I felt great, lost inches and knew how to eat properly and what a portion size is. Since the technical end of the diet I've continued on and lost another 15 pounds with 9 of those being fat pounds. I'm now down to 148 pounds. My family, friends and co-workers are in awe of how good I look and always comment on my discipline. I've gotten more confidence just knowing that I look good. I'm starting to get abs and my back looks pronounced as hell with my slimming waistline. I can see my collarbones finally.
I've started P90x3 last week and I'm starting to see some results, especially in my obliques, lats and shoulders. I think being chunky was always a sticking point for me as I was self conscious about it although I was confident in my personality all along.
My goal is to lose another 8-12 pounds with a majority of it being from fat. I want to hit the 12-14% bodyfat range so I have to lose roughly 5% more body fat. I think it's very attainable.
