Sit up question.

 Post subject: Sit up question.

Right, my first sit up session in a long time. I got up to 9 until the area near my abs and diaphragm started searing with pain - just under the sternum. Am I doing it right or is it due to poor technique
and prone to self destruction?

Situps get boring. Did you know the front squat hits your abs hard?

Probably you are doing it wrong...try different situps, start running...running helps a lot :)

Just look up situps on youtube for proper form.
You may also want to look at the root cause of 'why are you performing situps'? If you are overweight, situps will do nothing, just run to shed some fat so you can see your abs. If you are super skinny try building a base first doing lots of compound workouts which will hit your abs indirectly.

Another reason for why you might feel a little bit of pain is because your working muscles you haven't used in a long time. But the more you do it the looser they will become which will make it easier for you.
