If you are an avid athlete you want to take preventative measures to ensure that you will be able to perform the sports you love for as long as you desire to play. While athletes are known for pushing themselves to their limits, there are many proactive measures that can be taken to reduce the likelihood of common injuries associated with your sport of choice. Below are a few tips for reducing your risk of injury.
Invest in the Appropriate Gear

Having the right sports gear and equipment will not only help reduce your risk of injury, but can help you improve your performance. For example, if you are a triathlete you’ll want to make sure you invest, in running shoes that give proper arch support and will reduce shock that can lead to damage to your feet, shins, and knees. Also have an understanding of how long your gear and equipment is designed to last. Just because equipment in not falling apart does not mean it is in the condition to do the job you need it to.
