So I started off doing the p90x, but I find that it is too cardio based. What I mean is I am constantly gasping for breath, and as a skinny guy with like next to no body fat it is completely pointless. I need a workout routine that uses dumbbells, Chin up bar and body exercises. My friends have recommended me to do 'scoobys' home workout intermediate level, but is there anything out there that stands out for a guy with the body type like me? I am eating a lot more than I used to already, and it is kinda costly (I don't like asking my mum to buy extra food and feel bad about it). So I want to get the most out of the food I eat.
I am a naturally skinny guy with a super fast motabolism. Perfect build for a girl, but not so much for a guy! On the other hand I do see results extremely quickly. My arms are looking very nice, and my torso and abs too! All this in about 2 and a half weeks. But again the p90x workout is too intense, and the intensity is really not needed. (I feel sick/headrush all the time, and I don't need any cardio as I cycle to college 50mins every day).

Gaining weight= More calories. And if you want to maintain that weight, you have to keep eating the same amount of calories. Hate to break it to ya bro... But that's the truth behind body building. In order to gain 1 pound, you need to take in an EXTRA 3500 calories over a certain amount of time. If you aren't gaining weight eating what you do now, add 1000 calories/day to your diet. And its not just how much, its WHAT you are eating and WHEN you are eating it. Common diet break down in body building is 40% carbs, 40% protein, 20% fat. Take in twice your body weight in grams of protein/day to get solid muscle gains. So if you weight 150 pounds, take in 300 grams of protein/day. However, your body can only digest 40 grams of protein every 2 hours. So instead of eating 3 or 4 meals a day... eat 8, 9 or 10 small meals a day. Every time you get the LEAST bit hungry, SLAM yourself with as much food as you can take in. Look on bodybuilding.com to get some good diet ideas and figure out what type of foods you like to eat. They have recipes and everything on there.
And doing P90x will definitely tone you up... but you won't gain weight off of it. You need to be lifting weights. A gym membership is cheap. And you don't need to or WANT TO spend a ton of time in the gym. The more time you spend in the gym, the more calories you are burning. Activate the muscles, don't annihilate them. 20-30 minute lifting sessions. MAKE SURE YOU STRETCH DAMN IT!!!!!!
The key is to lift like you are big. Eat like you are bigger. And SLEEP like a beast in hibernation. and drink lots of water. Bulking is my favorite thing (unfortunately its cutting season for me now!) because you can pretty much eat whatever the fuck you want as long as you take in all of your macro nutrients for the day.
Lift, eat, sleep, grow, repeat.
