But I heard Cassin is slow digesting and Whey is fast digesting.
Does anyone know how much protien is too much to take at once, like if I chug 75gs of whey will my body not be able to absorb all of it that fast. I know I need 1 gram per pound.
What does the body need to digest and use protien, some GNC guy tried telling me I need Nitric Oxide or whatever its called, I think you need fiber. But anything specific I should take to make sure my body uses all of its protien.

Im unsure on the specifics but i think its around 60grams at any one time as your body will just piss it out, which is why we spread our meals across the day so your protien intake stays high along with your blood sugar levels and optimum protien intake is achieved
Nitric Oxide isnt the answer for ensuring maxuimum protien intake, it is however a very usefull supplement and propper research should be done before using it. An alternative for improved nutrion intake should be L-argamine ( one of the key components of Nitric oxide)
Fibre slows digestion down, thats all it does

1. You're right in that whey and casein do have differences in amino acid profile, both whey and casein offer the full spectrum of amino acids needed for muscle synthesis.
2. They have different functions. Sometimes you want a fast digesting protein, sometimes you don't.
3. For most people, 0.45g of protein for every pound of muscle is recommended. IE. want to be 180lbs, eat 80g of protein a day. Note: EVERYTHING you eat has protein - rice, beans, dairy, avocado, broccoli, etc.
4. It is much better to split the daily protein intake over multiple meals. Whatever you don't use, you may pack on as extra weight.
5. Increased protein intake means an increase of waste production (read: poop and piss). It is definitely advantageous to eat enough fiber and drink enough water (
-notice body builders carrying gallon jugs of water. The excess protein intake gives the kidneys more work so flush it out.
6. I haven't done much research into nitric oxide. I would almost never trust a GNC guy. One week they're pushing Protein X, next they're pushing Protein Y. The only thing that changed is the company that's offering incentive to sell. That said, friends have used it and it has worked in the short term.
I personally will stick with whey and casein.
Good luck in the gym!

Otherwise your body will utilize protein as an energy source rather than building material for new tissue. It's called the protein sparing effect.
As for casein vs whey, whey is a better investment if you have to pick one or the other. Best time to drink whey is immediately post workout, best time for casein before you go to sleep. _________________ Pain is Temporary, Pride is Forever

you use casein before you sleep, because it apsorbs slow..
you use whey right after your workout, because you need proteins, acids, etc as soon as possible..
if you have doubt and cash problems, and have to choose, choose whey and drink it after training..
if you wanna gain musscle, you should enter 1.5 or 2 grams per pound in a day.
but in one meal, your body can apsorb only about 30-40 grams of protein.if you take more than that, your body won't aceppt it all,and protein above the limit goes to garbage. _________________ -don't hate the player, hate the game.

I want it for a meal replacement, or supplement for a meal. Lets say I eat lunch and only get 16g of protien I want to chug down a protien shake to get the rest or if I skip a meal keep my protien up.
