Good call on wanting to improve shoulders; they really give that thick powerful frame most guys are after, and they even make your upper arms look better. Too many guys neglect training them waaaay too effin much. Anyways, advice:
Do a specialization phase for 3-4 weeks where you train your shoulders hard 3 days a week while lowering volume for other parts to really allow your shoulders to grow. Try something along these lines:
Monday- shoulders heavy
A. Barbell push press 5x5
B. "cheating" bent rear deltoid raises 3x8. Go heavy on these and use a little body english.
C. cheating front raise 3x8. same as the rear delt raise
Tuesday- train legs a little lighter than you would normally train them
Wednesday- Shoulders light
A. Barbell military press 10x10 (use a pretty light weight and 60s rest between sets)
B. Bent over rear delt raises 4x8
Friday- shoulders volume-
A. Dumbell military press 5x8
B1. Front raise 3x10-12
B2. Lateral raise 3x10-12
B3. Cable machine face pull (use rope attachment) 3x10-12
Saturday- Chest and back a little lighter than you normally would.
Do this for 3-4 weeks then go back to a normal program. Also, eat an extra 500-1000 calories on your shoulder days, preferably in the hours after your workouts. Do all that and you'll be well on your way to those cannonball shoulders my man, good luck!
