Ok everyone on this fourm thats checks this thread knows how I feel about steady state cardio. But at someone who I respect behest I am trying H.I.I.T.

Ive done some (rudementary) reasearch on H.I.I.T

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-inten ... l_training

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interval_training

I might do it my own way

-Warm up 2 minutes
-High intensity to failure (lactic acid burnout) less than a minute
-2 minutes walking pace
-high intensity round 2
-2 minute walking pace
-last high intensity round

I will use a heart rate monitor and stop watch to record times.

If you guys have any advice Im all ears I will post my results.

I will only be doing this once to twice a week so it wont interfere with my anaerobic training recoverability.

The thing that defines HIIT is the quick bursts followed by rest. 2 minutes may be too long, however. Why don't you start by doing the 30 seconds to failure, 60 second rest and repeat x amount of times.

Yes when I mean to failure I mean during extreme intensity so around 40 seconds I find the lactic acid hits me hard enough in my quads to force me to slow, I have to use a incumbant bike because I dont have health insurance now and cant afford a injury.

I do HIIT when im out with the dog, it kills two birds with the one stone. When im resting I throw her ball and she chases me when I have it in my hand sprinting. :)

If you don't feel like puking when you're done, you're doing HIIT wrong.

When they say high intensity, they mean it. Go hard or go home.
