| Hi Guys
I believe that my personal grooming is of quite a high standard but having taught friends what small things they can do to improve their grooming makes me wonder if there are any little things I'm missing. I want to ideally get a list that we can all share and work from as I firmly believe that no-one knows what they should be doing until someone else tells them.
I'm not trying to work out what specific styles work best at this point, just the little things that we should all do to look as though every aspect of ourselves is clean and deliberate.
So, here's my list. I'd like to see what you guys can add/change:
1. Hair should have a definite style to it that is maintained regularly. Cut once every 3 weeks for short hair with the fluffy bits at the top of the back of the neck shaved.
2. Side-burns should be deliberate or non existant, not growing down slowly where one hasn't bothered to trim them.
3. Good styling products should be used that make your hair look natural, not greasy or plastic.
4. Eyebrows should be plucked to look defined and symetrical with special attention paid to the mono-brow area and the upper-outer reaches where ones eyebrows meet ones temples.
5. Nose hair should be plucked if visible. A nasal moustache is not a styling choice!
6. Eyes shouldn't look exhausted. Get some sleep!
7. Teeth should be cleaned, flossed and mouth-washed. Mints or gum should be on hand to ensure good breath at all times.
8. Facial hair should be deliberately styled, not left to run wild. Stubble should be a choice not a way to avoid shaving and stubble past say three days growth should have style clean-shaved in by, for example, getting rid of the moustache or hair below the jaw-line so that it's apparent that it's a conscious choice.
9. Ears should be cleaned out regularly with attention paid to the whole ear, not just the ear-hole.
10. Armpit hair should be cut back slightly. You shouldn't have tufts sticking out if your arms are by your sides.
11. Body hair should be controlled if excessive. Back hair should be non-existant.
12. Pubic hair should be trimmed. We wouldn't expect a woman to have a forest so a couple of centimeters off is reasonable.
13. Nails should be short and clean with no dead skin hanging around the base. That counts for feet too.
14. Dry skin should be treated with moisturiser. I personally feel that most men don't moisturise even though they should. I've seen it do wonders to the skin of friends and I've heard women say 'What's with K, he's looking different today'.
15. A good quality deodorant should be used at all times.
16. A good quality aftershave should be used at all times. I know a lot of guys who think that aftershave is optional yet it's one of the things that women notice easily.
17. Your clothes should be clean and fit well. If you can go a size smaller, do it! Good fitting clothes are a way of demonstrating your frame. If you have a larger frame, don't make it look even bigger with baggy clothes, you're not fooling anyone into thinking there's a slim guy under their!
So, that's all I've got for now.
Ultimately, this list will never get you any success with women on it's own. Likewise, you could ignore all these points and still be succesful. This is about tweaking those little things which girls notice but many guys don't realise are important.
I persoanlly feel much better about myself when I have all these points handled. Interestingly, I'm letting almost all of them go as an expirment for Halloween (not shaved in 5 days) and I'm hating it.
In the spirit of leaving them better than you found them and making the pick-up a great experience for the woman I think this counts a great deal. Feel free to add, delete, compliment, criticise, tell me it's important/not important (you're both right) and take away from it what you will.
