I finally came to the realization that my, "Yo-yo" weight loss and weight gain had to stop. I am 5'10", used to weigh 240, lost 75 lbs. looked great, didn't know how to deal with it, still didn't get laid, slipped back into depression, gained 50 more lbs.,
bought a mountain bike, lost 30 lbs., started to feel good and gain attraction again....
still nothing. Back to 230....for 15 years this has been going on.

For me, unless I focus on health as the main hub of my life wheel, the spokes (career, mental frame, hobbies, diet, sex drive....etc.) fly off one by one and the whole wheel eventually crumples into a heaping pile of twisted human uselessness.

No matter what happens in my life now, I spend at least 2 hours at the gym 4 times a week. In addition, I sold my truck and forced myself to bike everywhere, (15 miles per day sometimes 40). THIS is my life now. I will nurture it and pay attention to it and anything that falls in around it will be good and sustainable. If anything distracts me from my routines, I will reject it. I will not deviate, I will not make excuses, I will not compromise my hub of life for anything or anyone any more.

I feel you and have dealt with similar situations all my life. The key to you beating this is counting calories period. You need to establish your caloric maintnance number and subtract 500 calories from that per day in order to lose a pound a week.
