Circuit training is usually the stuff with stations (e.g. one station where you jump rope for 3 mins, one for push ups, one for squats etc.) and you do the exercise at the station for the designated time, and switch.
The similarities between circuit and tabata; they're both types of interval training.
but according to the stuff I could find, Tabata seems more beneficial than an hour of endurance training, both for stamina (VO2-max, maximal oxygen uptake per time) as well as for anaerobic strength.
So, all in all, pretty good all around.
Try it.
Try squats or something like it.
Google, and find some exercises that are easy to perform and that you can do a lot of reps with,
such as sit-ups or push-ups.
(try squats and sit ups at least, and push-ups if you're strong at those.)
And remember to watch the clock.
Drakelet, the question, as I understood it, was directed to whether the Tabata method is any good for building muscle mass
