Modern man is not capable of hunting his own meat without aids of weapons or other ways of cheating nature....
Does this mean that our friend, modern man, is not "supposed" to eat meat ?

Ok.
Let's assume this: Milk is just a product created to get money for fat dairy farmers.
Does this theory also fit with exotic fruit ?
Which would not naturally be in our diet....
Or, say....Bread, which needs a lot of mechanical help, and also fire, to make it edible ?
Eating wheat and other grain, which is susceptible to ergot, naturally, and thus is likely to grant you insanity before you'd feel full.

Does that mean that the only things we really should eat or drink is water, and fruit and possibly vegetables (unsure about vegetables, doesn't come naturally and are easily confused with poisonous plants)?

Or are human beings adapted to a versatile diet, due to an immune system and an internal combustion engine which is able to make use of almost any form of energy ?

I'd think you'd shout louder about artificial sweeteners or all the other plastic which is added to "normal" food to make it rot/decompose slower.
Having a colon laced with non-decomposing material, indefinitely, would be more harmful than making use of another natural way of transporting carbohydrates, minerals and vitamins, such as milk is.

That's a bit more than 2 cents, but I think I had a point in there somewhere.

now i know i'm just saying what other people have been, and in truth i didn't even read whatever link there was but yeah, milk sucks.
actually most dairy does.

i addmit i eat plenty since it's such an easy source of protein, but i try and limit myself to one dairy product per meal.

mostly it's poor nutrition since our bodies have not yet evolved to properly digest milk and extract as many useful nutrients from it as we can from, say, nuts and berries. humans only began drinking cow milk a few thousand years ago, not nearly enough time for our digestive systems to evolve.

the reason so many people beleive it's good is that in a sense, it is. at least in relation to the Standard American Diet (SAD). but then again, the SAD is so piss poor to begin with that cow milk is great in comparisson. once you adjust your diet further and further from the SAD, you will realize that in comparisson with an optimized paleolithic diet (ok, the standard paleo has some flaws, but those can be changed easily), milk is pretty bad.

its the same reason people think vegitarians are so healthy- sure they are, but only in comparison with the SAD.

Not red meat. fatty fish and lean poultry are great.

yes it would, if by exotic you mean non american/european, then the majority of the world has "exotic" fruit in their diet. Regardless, the different spectrums of fruit available to any given population are similar in nutritional content.

Bread, at least most common bread today, is processed with techniques that strip the wheat of any nutritional value (bleached enriched flour, anyone?) Processed flour is about as bad for you as processed sugar, and ultimately does the same thing for your body, since they are both simple carbs.

"eat food. not too much. mostly plants." -Micael Pollan
one of the best bits of nutritional advice ever.

imagine you have an engine that can run on any fuel, regardless of quality. if you put in salad and low-fat yogurt, it will run. if you put in bacon grease, it will run. if you put in hydrogenated palm kernel oil, it will run. but if you put in the crap oil, it will get fat and ugly and no girls will want to talk to it.

i completely agree. but once you have taken care of that, milk comes next...

In one of his books, 'Unlimitied Power', Anthony Robbins describes how decreasing the amount of dairy products and red meat can give you more energy and be far healthier. 'The strongest and biggest animals in this world are herbivores' - Anthony Robbins. Cant remember the chapter too exactly, if I can find the book lying around I will type it up. Quite a interesting read. Not that I will stop eating those foods, hehe

But in times of famine the ones who live longer are the ones willing to eat the herbivores.

Lol very true.

In my opinon milk is the best for you, think about how all animals have milk when they are first born. (A fair percentage)

Milk becomes 'bad' for you when it gets so heavily processed but in this modern age everything is. Even vegetables are. All the fertiflizers and pesticides etc
