I have a group of friends who I hang out with all the time. These guys are all really cool guys but I feel like our lives are going in a different path right now. They don't like goingout and prefer to stay in on weekends even though we are all 20 year old guys (they used to go out more but don't seem to want to anymore). I know it's important to hang out with people who are better than you are or where you want to be in your life. I love my friends but I am looking for a more ecxiting and dynamic group of friends who like to go out, who are doing things with their lives.

What are some good ways to get some new friends. I am planning on getting a new job soon and will be attending university in January. I am a really sociable guy and have been taking people's advice at talking to strangers everywhere like at coffee shops and bus stops etc... I am also want to start getting more hobbies maybe joining a baseball league this summer does anyone have any other suggestions of stuff I should do?

This will definitely help you get new friends. One suggestion I have is to target who you hang out with. You are the average of the 5 people you spend your time with. You don't want to rub off on bad influences. But first, decide what you want with your future, then choose the people you're with carefully. [/quote]

you can get new friends without getting rid of the old ones. go for it, new social contacts are always good, you always learn a lot from other people.
