I'm somewhat funny, but theres always room for improvement.

I'm looking for a book to help me develop a good sense of humor. I want to know what is the "best" or a very "effective" book on helping someone become a funny person overall. Please let me know which ones you've read and which one do you think is the best. The price of the book does not matter. I am a sophomore in Highschool, if that makes a difference (don't think it should be a big difference, but who knows).

Also, if there are any books that will just help with communication skills in general, or being an alpha male, or something of the topic that will help, i'd love to read it. Just make sure it WILL help. I've read people saying "just don't worry about what other people think" like 100000 times, but i need something that actually had an effect on you or will have an effect on me.

Watch a lot of funny movies. This should be easy if you have cable or netflix. By watching other guys being humourous you can become familiar with different personality types and constantly build upon you attitude and humour sense to become the person you want to be.

Read comedic novels and webcomics as well.

A lot of the things that make people laugh are situation-based, i.e. someone says something or does something, or something happens around you, or even a current event, and you are right there to quip about it. If you can be witty about things like this you'll come off as funny and intelligent, but referencing things (or even reusing something else you heard) works just as well.

Reading and watching gives you more stuff to link things to, as well as the right mindset about always looking for things that are funny.

I found the book: the comic toolbox. From what I've read it seems more for humor when writing. Can somebody who knows of this book tell me if it's helpful. Also, I found the book How To Be Funny by Stanley Lyndon, supposively it's really good for developing a sense of humor. Does anybody have this book, I'd like some feedback on it.

Watch and listen those comedians performing in clubs/bars. The best humor, because they know how to use everydays stuff and put them into a different light, a funny one. I wish I could also watch more of them, but don't know where they perform or where to find the correct videos.
