So my step brother gave me some advice about being social, this guy is smooth with girls and cool with his boys, has so many friends and had a lot of gfs, and when I asked him some advice about being social, and how you should always talk to people to make friends, he told me to talk about anything in the conversation. That it should keep going and some pauses are ok. The thing is, if I take this advice, and I talk about everything, wouldn't that make me seem annoying? I need some advice guys

Well one that can help is watching the body language of the people you are talking to. If you notice their body is not facing you anymore or they are continuously looking elsewhere, you know that you are probably not peeking their interest and if you continue to bore them they will become annoyed. Also, talk about topics that interest them as well. I'm very much into music and if some guy wouldn't shut up about his love for knitting, I'd be annoyed. You'll get the vibe you are annoying them if you are - like I said, watch for body cues. Also, watch for short answers as if they are brushing you off.

Alright, but what if this is when I want to make some friends, and I actually wanna be their friend, I don't wanna just be brushed off, so I'm wondering if I start out annoying, how can I end up being great, or not annoying at all?
