She's scheduled to go back next month. I'm contemplating moving, not only to see where it goes with her but for a bit of an adventure.
There's no pressure for it to work her really, as I'll happily adapt over there. I'm very sociable and no doubt make friends pretty quickly.
Anyone done anything similar? also any Aussies have any idea how aussies respond to Brits? _________________ Leeds Pick up Lair. PM for info.

Generally, Aussies respond well; a lot of them have family over here still. The usual sport type competitiveness and 'banter' perhaps, but they're a really friendly nation as a whole. (Obviously you get some numpties anywhere in the world.)
Great country, lots of things to do and see, a lot of variation, great people, great beaches, wildlife, everything really.... apart from decent beer! If you can sort living arrangements out and aren't going solely for the girl, then I'd say get on it. Much easier to do whilst you're young and without too many responsibilities!

Aussies have an affinity for the English. They generously gave us colonizing convict ancestors and we are still part of the Commonwealth. The Queen's face is on the back of all of our coins. I consider Peep Show to be the best show of all time.
Like 7000 mentioned many Aussies have family in England and the UK. Our countries have relatively loose immigration laws. Aussies like to diss the "whinging Poms" but it's usually in jest and related to sport. I remember when we beat you once in a "soccer" friendly, glorious day.
Sounds like you're not just moving for a girl so I say go for it. (There are many Aussie girls down here if it doesn't work out). Brits are mostly always welcome here, we understand that the weather makes life pretty nice (unless you move to Melbourne).
