He's right. I got a degree and don't use it. I should have explored more. Basically try everything. Don't decide on a major until you know what you like.
I studied religion because I wanted to be a youth pastor. I'm a PUA. Sex and religion don't go well together. Also I realized I hate teens now. Now I'm studying business, but can't affored to go back and finish something that will make me money. 5 years of my life, wasted.
I was stuck on minimum wage. Now I'm unemployed and can't get benefits because I live with my folks (which I admit is better than being homeless, but it still sucks dick, esp since they are very religious... and I like sex... and beer... I can't ever bring a girl home). So I'm fucked and stuck without the ability to get a good job and a huge obstacle to getting dates, and much less getting laid.
My brother studied to be a doctor and realized he hates being around sick people. So now he's a pharmacist... slightly better, but now he realizes he hates customers. I had a friend study to be a lawyer. He hates paper work and studying. Now he's a car salesman. He's happy, but not as wealthy as he wanted to be. And keep in mind the economy's shit. I have a buddy with a master's in sports medicine that he can't use because nobody is hiring them. He's working construction. It's wasted money and time.
My advice, spend year one on a liberal arts degree and take a ton of 101 classes as electives that are in various fields that interest you. Also take as many general education classes as you can to get them out of the way because they go toward any degree.
Research those fields you're interested in on your own hard core. Get some internship half way through college to find out if you actually want to do it. If not, try something else.
OR... you can go the other route. Take a huge risk. Get a part time job, don't go to school, educate yourself, and start a business. That's what I wish I did. Now I'm playing catch up. Most of the successful entrepreneurs didn't finish college or go to college.
Also, if you're looking for a job that's going to get you pussy, don't do that. You'll be miserable if that's your only qualification. Get a job that allows you the free time to get pussy on the off hours. Work and sex don't mix well.
Just think really hard before you decide what to do. It's the rest of your life you're talking about. As Socrates said "know thyself". That's when you'll know what to do.
