So I got my bartending certificate back in 2011 in Jersey. What I'm hoping for is to apply to a nice club, lounge, restaurant, or bar that can offer training. Yeah, I was trained in the bartending school to make drinks, but what they didn't train you for is how to sell products, such as being a waiter and offering a suggestion to the guest what meal he or she should order.

I've only applied to 3 restaurants: a Red Lobster and two Olive Gardens. Always failed at the second interview

So what I'm asking you guys is what're some good venues or companies in Jersey that'll offer training to its new employee once they pass the interview process? Because eventually, I see myself somewhere in the future serving drinks on the rooftop lounges or clubs or whatever in NYC -my ultimate part-time dream job!!

Also, can someone please explain to me TIPS CERTIFIED? Is it mandatory for all bartenders to be TIPS CERTIFIED?
