I enjoy playing video games, this is a terrible hobby and no matter how passionate one was for it, chicks don't care. So to anyone saying find something you like, its about passion, its not about girls, bullshit.

Same with guys who are crazy about football, I am not into it but try telling a girl about a fanasty football team and see where that gets you.

No traveling, surfing, rock climbing all great.

PS: I am sorry to sound bitter but I am guessing people looking here for advice need help and telling them to just be average wont help them.
That's because video games are just for fun and don't actually improve you as a person, or improve your physical endurance, maybe they make your thumbs stronger idk :) So it's not really a hobby, more a waste of time.
But, nonetheless, if you like your video games you should keep playing them no matter what girls say. I'm just saying it's not really impressive because it doesn't show ambition in real world, since games are just a fantasy.
Videogames improve your hand-eye coordination though, as well as how fast you're with a keyboard/mouse/controller.

It's like saying "well, playing keyboard/piano isn't a hobby because it doesn't do anything for your physical endurance"

Though it's still about as attractive to a girl as saying you're a guy working at best buy's geek squad at 35. Unless they're gamer girls. Ofcourse. But, you know, niche etc..

Actually, it's not really the same, because by playing piano you create something, music. Even if you reproduce other people's music, the sound of it has some artistic value. Hand-eye coordination is a valid point though ;)

I just remembered, one way to make gaming an attractive hobby is to be so good you can make money on tournaments. This way it becomes an attractive hobby since it brings value to other areas of your life.

Horse riding! I have not many girls that did not want to do it at least at one point in their life. I have a very rare and strange hobby, and when I was a kid I was seen as a weirdo for doing it. Now it is my work as well and I am the centre of attention as soon as I mention it. Girls like it when you are passionate about something but do not bore them to death with talking about it.

My personal hobbies make me a more interesting/attractive person in my opinion. I enjoy:

Exercise
-kickboxing/boxing
-running
-weight lifting
-yoga/tai chi
-bicycling
-etc...

Music
-I play guitar (for over 15 years)
-I am learning keyboard/piano/organ
-Harmonica

Reading - everything from self-help books (PUA as well), novels, textbooks, you name it

Computer
-PC video games, learning about the stock market, spirituality, surfing the net in general

I consider work a hobby some days.
-"Find a job you love and you will never have to work another day in your life"

Travelling
-simple day trips to outdoor areas
-fishing "holes"
-learning new languages (and putting that spot on my travel wish list)

There are many ways to fill in your downtime with hobbies. These are just a few of mine...

I would like to disagree with everything said about video games. I play video games and i love it and 90% if not all the girls around me know that I play video games and i have a passion about it, even one girl told me you are a geek, but that coolest geek. I even tell them in the first date or hangout that I play video games, the key to it is to sound confident, if they made a comment about it I will throw this "are you going to judge me on this?". Some of the girls actually want to play with me some of the games.

I used to have the same perception about gamers, that girls don't dig us. Most gamers don't show confidence, but if you are a gamer and you say it with confidence and show that you are not effected if they made fun of it, then it's ok.

peace,
Mixture

Don't get me wrong, I like video games too. I'm just saying it's a fun pastime, not really a hobby.

Well it's good you enjoy it. I'd say video games become a hobby when you're either making money with them (or trying) through tournaments or they develop some cognitive skills (puzzle games, but it's borderline with pastime, just like playing chess, unless it's a tournament thing, it's a pastime). BUT, regardless of that, it's fun and if a guy enjoys his video games he shouldn't stop playing just because some girl doesn't think it's cool :)

For me, I personally love martial arts, writing, politics, stuff like that. I do play video games but honestly, don't talk about them unless its like "Yeah, I was playing some MLB last night, had some of the guy's over got a little tournament going."

Also, it's safe to say that SOME women, not all may be attracted to people with certain hobbies.

I agree with those that said that you have do things that you like, not what girls like. My only input here would be that I have a passion for fixing things. I've pretty much been in construction since I was 17yo and am 30yo now. I am going to school to be an electrician and after that I'll be going for HVAC and plumbing but because it is all stuff that I personally want to be able to do, not for a career and not for women, but girls end up loving this about me. Sure they always ask me to fix things for them but I found that 90% of the time its just because they want to watch me and screw my brains out afterward. It is a turn on for them to watch a man work. Besides sex they make me lunch/dinner, offer massages, and so on. They make themselves into the kind of woman I like, a supportive woman. That's just my two cents though.

Im passionate about camera work (photography and cinematography). A lot of women these days fancy themselves as photographers so it often goes down a treat to talk and get excited about it.

I actually keep a set of my favourite photos I have taken on my iPhone and used them on a girl a few weeks ago who was keen on photography, ended up taking her back to mine.

there is nothing wrong with having any hobby, but think of the kind of people that would partake in that hobby those are the kind of people that hobby would attract,

for example, you say you like video games, well that is cool, but most video games are sort of an isolated hobby, there is not very much interpersonal involvement going on besides maybe games that you play over the internet, or playing a game with 1-3 other people on some sort of console, so really chances of meeting people from playing video games are slim,

not only that but if a girl doesn't share this hobby she might not be interested in taking part in your hobby with you, although you will be able to find girls out there that play video games,

same goes with any hobby, don't pick a hobby to attract women, get a hobby so that you have something that you enjoy in your life, something to keep you occupied so you don't feel needy, if you want to use your hobby to gain status with someone, then the only factor you need to include is that you and the other person share an interest in that hobby, so if you want to meet and get with tennis girls, go get good at tennis, if you want to meet a dancer, go out and learn to dance, the better you are at that hobby that you share with the girl, the more status you will get from that hobby, so if a girl lives in an area where football is really popular and she meets a pro football player, he probably will have alot of status around her, if football has been a big deal in her life and she is interested in it, etc. if your hobby is something she doesn't care about, then it will neither further you, or hurt you, take up a hobby because you enjoy it, don't do it solely for the purpose of trying to impress people, do it for yourself

there will be girls that like/dis-like just about everything, just have to find the one who shares an interest in what you like
