Hey I've recently changed alot about me, losing about 5 stone in weight, getting contacts, visual overhaul basically, and I'm starting to do over some parts of my life, I've recently fallen out with a group of friends, when we all realised we'd grown out of each other, so here in lies my dilemna, I have no group of friends to go out with, to game with, I'm a bit of a wall flower, I go to the gym and there's plenty of people who I'd love to initiate conversation with and possibly get them as a friend, but I just don't know where to start, anyone got any advice? Or any advice on what to do to get a new circle of friends? Muchly appreciated guys

1. approach
2. talk
3. invite to do something with you
4. repeat 1-3 7x
5. throw a party and invite the 7 groups you've hung out with.

tada, a new social circle.

you will thank me felix , we both have the same thing going on . our friends are douche bags , the only outing i get also is at the gym now. i go there twice a day. cardio and workout . while you are hitting the weights, ask somebody around you to spot you. thats it . once they spot you. ask them what body part they are doing, how long its been, tell them they are in great shape, to show you some excercises. .... then you have yourself a workout buddy. a friend of mine who i used to go w/ knew pretty much everybody at the gym that worked out. the moment he walked in , from the receptionist, to the trainers everyone knew him.

this is how you build social proof at the gym.

I think just taking every opportunity to have a conversation is a good step. Not every conversation is going to go somewhere, which is natural. After a while you'll start noticing your conversational skills improving, and you'll start seeing opportunities to create conversations and situations. It is a process, push yourself but at the same time don't stress about it and give it time.

Papa's article is really good. It's so true what he says that 10% of the girls will respond. I've noticed this time and time again. Vice versa, plenty of dudes will show up.
