^point noted, though do you think that push for political correctness/equality is changing the dynamic of traditional male behaviors/characters.
I suppose the best example would be the American household. The concept of the traditional family is becoming a thing of the past.
More often, men are no longer the breadwinners and heads of the household. Furthermore, single parent family, and divorced families present an interesting dynamic.
The younger generation seems to be a wish-wash of the extremes.
-Hyper Masculine Males
-Feminine Males
-Masculine females
-Hyper feminine Females
I think the idea of the traditional family was working against masculinity far more than the destruction of the typical family. Think about, a man, with all his passions and dreams, his dick and desire, is forced to live under one roof with one woman and maintain the lifestyle of her and their children. Nothing is less masculine than this. Lions are known to mate with multiple lionesses and travel great distances from "family" to family, to help raise the cubs. He isn't sent to work each day, expected to return with more money than the other lions, and then taken for half his net worth upon divorce.
It is proven that men in long term relationships experience a drop in testosterone levels. Testosterone is argued by many to be the essence of masculinity.
I guess what I am trying to say is that I haven't been around since the birth of mankind, but I assume nothing has changed. Masculine men are looked up to by men and looked at as outsiders to women until they are ovulating.
