You are either born an alpha or a beta. It is in your fucking nature. You can't just BE an alpha because you play your shitty, childish, fucked up games. Ffs get a fucking clue. Pretending to be something you are not will bring a lifetime of misery. Most girls prefer betas. They don't want an unreliable dick head acting like a fucking gorilla who will only hurt them and make them unhappy. They prefer reliable betas who won't break their hearts. How many times do you morons need to be fucking told this? And stop hitting on girls who are beautiful when you are an ugly prick. Get real.

When you look to culture (literature, movies, TV-series) the alpha guy is onmipresent. He's someone who has a high status, interesting lifestyle, someone who follows his own rules, has a strong moral inner compas, high values, ... and one who takes decisions.

As far as I see in culture, the alpha does not necessarily have a lot of (different) women in his life nor does he degrade others, ... There is a thin line between an alpha guy and a bad boy (I would say the first is much more focused and uses his energy positively)

I myself life in Western Europe and here we have a TV-serie called "Suits", it plays in a NYC-law firm. For those of you who know that serie: Harvey Spector is a genuine "alpha": he's respected, on top of his game, interesting sex-life (although it's never explicitly mentioned) but also someone who stands up for his packmembers (when his associate Ross is sacked he's defending him risking his own job) and has his own moral compass. Interesting enough his office is decorated with sports-memorabilia and a music-collection (showing he has other passions in his life). Louis Litt is the typical would-be alpha-guy: he's self confident, loves his own (his own pictures stands on his desk) is not really respected but is feared. ... and has no life outside the office.

I don't think one is born as an alpha but one needs to be born with certain characteristics to be able to become one. Not everyone is born with a good intern compass or the ability to take decisions and without them it might be difficult to become a genuine alpha.

To the OP I would remark that when I say that an alpha needs to have a good internal moral compass and defends his packmembers such behaviour can be altruistic but not every altruistic behaviour is therefore alpha-like. Supporting charity is certainly altruistic but might not be alpha-like.
