Being a trend setter is very easy. It's more about confidence and certainty. There are some ridiculous styles people wear and the reason why they wear it is because they saw their favorite actor or singer wearing it in a video. Here's what you do.

1. Even if it's unorthodox, you must show certainty. If you like it, even if people make fun of it, you let them know that you like it no matter what they say.

Man: Why are you wearing that shirt? It looks silly!
You: I like it. You been staring at it, you probably want to wear yours.
Man: I don't own a shirt like that.
You: I bet you wish you did.

Somewhere you may see a person wearing that same shirt that you had on. You never know who's watching you and who admires you from afar.

2. Repetition. When you see something over and over or hear something over and over, you'll notice things starting to catch on. How many times you heard a song that sounded stupid but you caught yourself singing it? No matter how ridiculous something is, it can catch on with enough exposure.

3. You set your own trend. You don't have to look like a sideshow, but you don't have to wear the latest fashion to seem cool. I once bought a ball-bearing chain with the letter K and wore it everywhere. A lot of people asked me about it and I saw a variation of the ball-bearing chain everywhere. Coincidence? Well I stopped wearing mine and I noticed I didn't see anybody wearing theirs. I wore mine again after a few months and I noticed I saw people wearing ball-bearings again.

You don't need to be a celeb to be a trend setter. As long as you think you're cool, and you have a high level of certain about it, you'll notice other people treating you like you're cool.
