This has been on my mind a while now.

There is a particular female that I am interested in at the moment at the restaurant that I work at. We have carried some decent conversations between us two, however I am not sure where to start when it comes to escalating things in the environment that we both are surrounded by. Is it appropriate to be direct? Should I just play it cool and not think about her? Or is it best to be flirty with her?

Any help is appreciated.

While you may think this could be a good idea I could tell you to proceed with caution on this one. I have been successful with this in the past but I can tell you that you could be finding a new job if your supervisor has a problem with this. This was an engineering office however so the restaurant environment could be different.

Here's how I did it.

First day I didn't really acknowledge her much (I was the new one and made her come to me). Company went to lunch and she was sizing me up because I didn't say much about myself.

Work is a captive environment so if she feels threatened she can't leave, it isn't like a bar where she can just run away and she know that so she will already be on her toes, plus if she's good looking she has probably been approached at work before so be cautious.

Give her crap whenever she comes to you for help doing something, say something like "oh come on" or "what do they pay you for anyways" most girls get their ways in work environments this changes it up and they won't see it coming. And because it is that captive environment they will have to keep coming back to you inevitably.

Whenever she messes something up make a snide comment, not being mean but calling her out on it. When she says something about having to work late or redoing something "well maybe you shouldn't have screwed up in the first place".

My personal favorite was when you know she's about to leave and you are still there make yourself busy and when she comes to say goodbye don't look up and just say "don't care".

Showing your dominance needs to be done subtly when she is asking you about something try to get her cornered but don't stand too close, you don't want a sexual harassment case against you, and put up an arm closing her in. Don't make it obvious you are doing this but say you are in a cubical get her to go into the actual cubical area and stand in the entrance and rest your arm across the entrance so she couldn't get out if you don't move. If you can make her feel at ease in this position you have her.

When you feel you're set ask her if she wants to go for drinks or something else causal and work you're game from there, remember don't go too hard because if you crash and burn work is going to suck.

This worked for me but I would give a word to the wise that you may able to keep your cool with it but she will have that look that everyone else in the office will see, including supervisors.
