| My buddy’s Gf invited me to go with them to a bar where her co-workers were meeting for drinks at 7:00. I told her I would meet them there and I showed up at 7:20 (always be last, nothing demonstrates social value like having people at a table yell your name and wave you over). There is my buddy, his GF, the receptionist (a young cutie), a saleslady two girls from marketing (ones a 7, the other a def. 9) and beside the 9 is an IT guy. Introductions and I sit beside the recep., Across from the 7. I immediately start talking to the rec and the 7. The 9 and the IT seem to be together, he’s sitting close, chair is out of position with the table so he can be closer. It appears that he is the AMOG, controlling the conversation, voicing his opinion, deciding what topics to talk about getting in my conv. etc. I keep talking to the rec and 7, and now the 9 is joining in. I think nothing of it, here comes the waitress, she starts taking drink orders she gets to 9 who orders Crown, IT orders beer, 9 reaches for purse to pay, IT says “I got yours 9”... light goes off in my head, THEY AREN’T together. Right there in mid sentence of my conversation, I ask IT and 9 “how long you been together? “ IT says nothing 9 pipes up “oh we’re not together we just work together, he’s a good friend.” I immediately start including 9 in the conversation, she actually moves over to my side of the table to hear better. Now get this IT continues to pay for her drinks!
So now days I actually will open a mixed group with a similar question. Something like:
“Dude, you’re sitting here with all these women...which one is yours?”
“Whats up guys?” Turn to AMOG, “so all these yours?”
Right away you find out the situation, you AMOG the AMOG and get conversation going. I’ve found that most so called AMOGs are actually AFCs tagging along trying to win one of the girls. Most of the time one of the girls will actually answer before he can, thats usually the one I go for...
And yeah, I hooked up with 9 a few times. _________________ I will not apologize for who I am, what I am or what I'm about to do...
