Perceptions, everyone has a different outlook, in our tolerable society we respect these.. How can I put this delicately.. opinions?. From the initial meeting, can you tell if someone is changing their perceptions to build rapport? What usually happens, people try to put their idea across by comparing similar events in their lives, for instance “ I hurt my legs once when I was little and had to get 4 stitches” this probably translates to ‘I had tough growing up so don’t mess with me’. Then someone looking for validation of a higher standard “ I got stabbed by my brother with a pen through my hand’ translation – ‘My stories aren’t backed up with solid evidence and I heal with no scars too don’t mess with me’.
For a person that is unfamiliar with self serving people that like to brag about their grandiose sense of self importance, they would be entertained by these stories- urban legends. Growing up in an area where no one has accomplished anything worth advertising- I feel desensitised to the sms grammarfied sweatshop text-ile fabrications of where the person telling the story always happens to be the protagonist.
Although, most stories, are usually vents of anger for losing some disguised by sugar coated glorification to mask desultory existences. I can see why some people are snobs, these people may just be desensitised to things that are boring-or what a person of that tenor would perceive as such. Perception is the key word here. _________________ you can fake it till you make it, but if it feels REAL go with the flow!
