| You don't need to read this, you really don't but today I would like to tell a story that will enlighten you and rechange your thinking. This is the story of the typical medieval Jester.
In Medieval London, where the king's views and beliefs were the law of the land and thou be sent to the gallows if thou ever dared to becross his law.
A peasant who just turned 18 was being roughly dragged through a dark, damp tunnel by two hard skinned brawlers. As the man whinned and cried, begging for forgiveness his unofficial plea was cut by the crack of sunlight as he entered a circular interior where 500 of London's finest and richest citizens sat, cheering as the man was being sent to his death.
The 18 year old peasant was thrown onto a raised platform and his neck was tied and tightened to his unanimated murderer. He looked up at a wooden tower that stood before him, at the top sat the alpha males - His Royal Majesty, The Prince and The Duke. On the platform below were the musicians and ofcourse,
"WELCOME PEASANTS OF HIS ROYAL FANNETH's LAND AND KINGDOM" - The Jester. He who was hired as an entertainer of the king and people, when he told a joke the audienced laughed and he would bow to their every whim. A rather humorous individual but no doubt a very lonely one.
Whenever there was a royal banquet, he would not be invited to eat with anybody and even if he had a table alone noone would consider sitting with him. Ask yourself, why is this? Give yourself a minute, you don't need to, you really don't but just go ahead.
It's because the Jester fails to amuse the most important thing in the world - Himself. He sells all his value by satisfying the amusement of others. While people laugh with his material and routines they also simultaneously laugh at him because even though he is funny, what is he? An entertainer? No, that wouldn't be right. He's a buffoon and because of this he is lonely.
The King on the other hand amuses his court attenders but does not do so unless he is amusing himself in the process. He is not a clown on a stage and he knows it. If someone doesn't laugh at his jokes (- follows his law) then to him they are not a part of his world, they are somebody he doesn't care about.
Applying this story to your natural game, I invite you imagine that you are the King in your social circle. You have power and with that power you are now going to set out to amuse yourself before others. You are going to show others that you are more important to yourself than they are. If you are shun upon by people it's fine and if your not that's fine too, you are not independant on the laughter of others only of yourself. If someone doesn't laugh with you, it's fine. They will see that you are not dependant of their own amusement and they will give you respect for this.
I welcome you to your new transition of thinking and behaviour. [/u] _________________ "At the end of the day these are women's lives we're dealing with, not mere entertainment."
