It's very dependent on the type of girl that your trying to pick up. Even Style said that some of the girls that he picked up during the game knew that he was a player, and still went along with it.
If your game is tight enough, the girl will soon forget and lower her guard. It does take alot more effort compared to if she didn't know. Sometimes it takes less, because its like an exciting journey.
However, if a girl sees this as a negative aspect, you may want to try frame transformation.
