For a hobby, I am a qualified solo pilot, which I think should be able to help in game, mainly after watching Top Gun haha.

But I never seem to find a way to be able to slip it into a conversation. Anyone got any ideas?

you can ask what she does for fun besides partying. Chances are, she might ask you back.

Or you have a story that slides in that you fly.

That's awesome! What a great DHV. As long as she asks and you're just answering her question, it's not bragging. Talk about it with some passion and you're even better off.

I'm sure you can think of ways to lead her into that question. It doesn't have to be a super-obvious segway, just has to sound natural. Be creative!

honestly, i would use an opener - can go with the opinion opener...be creative and make your own. i would use some kind of opener that links that you're a pilot. maybe something like

"hey can i get your quick opinion on something. you've flown on a plane right? have you ever gotten that sinking, nervous feeling as you're taking off or is it kind of exhilirating?"
hb: blah blah
you: the reason i'm asking is because i'm a solo pilot and i'm starting to get that sinking nervous feeling and have no clue why"
