this is a bit of a different style of game iv learnt myself...the rules are completely different and im nto as good at breaking each phase down as others do but to put it simply its phone closing at the checkout.
i work in retail and have a for a while now, i get roughly 3 HB9s in a day, i serve roughly 300 - 400 customers a day and see more on the shop floor. since this is where i see the largest amount of "traffic" in a day including when im out in clubs and bars, i felt it would be a waste not to try experimenting with till game.
another thing you should know before i go any further is that you cant try this if your boss is near by, most companies dont want staff hitting on customers as this (if done badly) would lose customers.

the first thing you should do is blast through their auto pilot....the average person when they go shopping passes around 3 - 10 checkouts in a day, this adds up quickly and people build an auto pilot....unnoticable unless you serve hundreds a day.

to do this i use a large amount of different methods such as double takes, mixing up speech patterns and pausing. (again im nto very good at breakign things down) i always make an observation and act cocky funny....the second you mention something unrelated to the shop youv broken their autopilot but thats not enough because they can shift back to it quickly. i then want to disconnect myself fromt he shop in some way....she sees me as being a part of the shop...as unimportant as the shelf the products sit on. so il mention somethign i do at the weekend or mention an observation about the shop in the manner of a customer (these shops are always so brightly lit....etc).

the good thing is you already have a real time constraint (shes at the till...soemoen else could come to the till at any moment) so il mention a time im planning on heading out again and mention she should come but very subtly....too direct and your a creep. i bodyrock by lookign for approachign customers, this is an iod of sorts.

my method isnt set in stone and its worked 6 times so far (which isnt that much to be honest) but iv only been tryign it for the past 3 months so i dont think its too bad.......

most important rules, 1. be quick 2. break through her customer - sales assistant dynamic autopilot 3. leave first (my job involves tilla nd floor work so when iv served her i can walk away fromt he till....if you cant leave the till before she l;eaves then lean towards oncomign customer)

any tips that could make me better at this by all means im here to learn not teach....my in field game could use alotta work so take any advice i do give with a pinch of salt lol

Hear what you're saying about the "traffic" dude, I'm in retail aswell but in a smaller store that doesn't get much business. Have been trying for a while now to break the auto-pilot as you say (both theirs and sometimes my own) and have got decent responses/interactions, some maybe good enough to have gone for number close but I personally can never get around my own block in the back of the mind which says "no, you're working, if you go for the number and it goes wrong, it could be your ass".
I remember in an old job of mine which was direct sales face to face I could've easily got the number of this chick but didn't and afterwards my boss even said "dude why didn't you get her number" and I didn't have an answer. In that same job there was another girl who came in a few times and I never got her number, but bumped into her outside work and got it instantly!

So yeah don't have any advice as to how to improve but just sort of echoing that it needs to be another point of interest game-wise.
