This doesn’t have to be an awkward moment what so ever. If you have been joking around, she has been laughing a lot, and there has been a lot of touching, you can pretty much just go for it.

I have done something as simple as saying ‘hey’ – she looks at me – and I go in for the kiss - Boom, kiss close. Everything you done before a kiss will tell matter if it is time to kiss or not, not so much actual moment.

But if you’re unsure, the Mystery kiss question is probably the best I heard. “hey do you want to kiss me?” She says yes, maybe, or idk, you go in for it. If she says no, all you have to say is, I didn’t say you could.”
