Sometimes i talk to girls who do have non-verbal interest, but verbally only answer in short, replying with a 3 word answer to open questions.
How my verbal game currently looks like:
(after IOI's etc.)
-Introduction and stuff, who is she with and etc.
-Ask her if she's having a good time, if we are at a party, ask if this is on a special occasion of anything.
-Litterly ask her to tell something about herself (alot of time they ramble on about themselves while having a smile on their face, this also provides conversation topics)
-By this i have found a nice topic or some similarity we both have.
But sometimes this just doesnt work, i cant go on about anything they just told me (like, theyre not here on a special occasion, they dont have job SPAM, go to high school or something or a non interesting study, dont do sports) and at that point i just go silent, i dont what to talk about and i usually go on to the next girl.
Anyone got any suggestions?

Easy, effective. And it may get the ball rolling again.
Conversations are ENDLESS if you do it right (and actually listen to the girl)
There's always something she glazed over that you can really dig into and explore.
But yeah I always do the "I had the most interesting day" thing if I stall out...
Even if I'm talking about the way my fatass roommate bongs a bag of marshmallows everyday. It's all fair game!
