I have a habit of asking "And whats special about <NAME>?" after a girl tells me her name as a form of qualification and seeing if she's interested. Usually they answer or say "I don't know" at which point I tease them but there is the third situation of them saying "Well whats special about you?"

I don't just wanna answer their question honestly because that would be complying to them and giving them control, but I also don't just wanna say something like "well I asked u first" which is childish and would probably make them leave.

i was wondering if you guys had any ideas on something witty and funny to say that would get a laugh from them and make them feel comfortable.

I've been a member of the forum two minutes so take this for what it's worth. Off the top of my head:
"I use to be gay... until I met you".
"I use to be gay. Now I'm not so sure."
"I look like Tom Cruise, until he got ugly".
"I don't have any underwear on. Want to see?"
"I would show you what is special about me, but the judge told me not to do that in public any more."

If you have any tricks as part of your opener you could do a magic trick, read their mind, etc.

niiiiice! some of those are very cool. the judge one is my favorite. very GM style. personally, i like to make up random stuff and just riff with it. stuff that is obviously not true, like going to the moon or being a hit man.

actually, it could be great to do the judge one and then stack immediately with the more outlandish stuff (astronaut, hitman, lingerie model, etc) and leave her wondering about the first comment... might try that!

if you ask her first and hten she asks you, say something like "ohhhh your dodging my question are you? thats interesting...so either there is nothing special about you or its something embarassing!"
say it in a half jokey kinda way

Im also new to this but if you like doing the ESP, Cube, cold reading, magic tricks... etc. you can just directly lead into it by saying, "well, i can read peoples minds" or "I have magical powers" etc...
