In characteristics of an alpha male in Mystery method DVD collection, Mystery says humor is one characteristic of an alpha male, humor means playful. My question, why doesn't Mystery use playful to replace humor as one characteristic of an alpha male? Humor=playful+cocky?

Mystery uses "humour" which means "to provoke laughter and provide amusement". You can do that without being playful and certainly without being cocky. Playful included some degree of humour, cocky has no connection whatsoever (cocky = "brash self confidence"). This is one of the reasons David De Angelo advocates mixing cocky with funny...
