so ive been running into this quiet, keep-to-herself girl that lives in my dorm who i believe has a thing for me--but then she gives me this one sign that throws me off!

her IOI's: smiling when she sees me, letting me into her intimate space, asking me questions regarding her self esteem( e.g. "should i be a model?"), dancing in front of me, showing me her sketchbook

the throw off: whenever we hug, she is quick to pat me on the back, signaling "get off me, bro," imo

am i reading into the throw off too much? or is it just a part of her behavior?

Your in the same dorm so go down to her room and ask her to go to the cafeteria to eat lunch or dinner with you and don't invite anyone else along. Play it cool then after that invite her back to your room.
